company rehersals and theatre weekend Day 96

This weekend was a busy one. Not only did I spend about 18 hours working with the theatre at kg, but we also had rehersals with the company at vinderen this weekend.

The show Erasmus Montanus opens on Wednesday 9'th of march and will be playing 5 shows. If you want to get tickets, see pictures or video from rehersals check out the website here.

I took the morning off today to relax a little before teaching 4 classes tonight. I now feel almost ready to go, just need to make some dance mooves and eat.

How was your Monday morning?

theater rehersals Day 94

The stage is up, so are the lights and we are getting sound today. Opening night is only 4 days away and there is much to do. We are working day and night right now, and I think everybody is getting really tired. But the goal is within sight!

a little lunch can go a long way Day 93

It's Friday and weekend. But no time off for this working girl. We have rehersals all night, Saturday and Sunday. I'm hoping for a productive weekend where all the pieces come together nicely.

This morning I joined the carnival with a lion and a princess by my side. The little lion got so tired during the party that he fell asleep on my lap.

The I drove sofie to take a pre school test to determin when she should start school. That's where I am right now....waiting for her to finish the test. I went out to lunch at a place nearby.

What are you doing this weekend?

little ballerinas- day 86

My days are filled with lots of classes, choreography, theatre and preparing. One of the highlight of the week is to see these beautiful children in pink tutus run around in class. They move so freely to the music and in many ways I feel like I can learn something from them! I love how their bodies speak a language of their own, and how they are not restricted by fear or what they think they should do or look like. It's very liberating!

I'm sitting at a coffee shop waiting for day 2 of the winterbrake rehersals to begin. We start off with warm ups at 10.15, then a dance rehersal to go over all of the choreography. At 12 there is a costume meeting, and after that we are staging the rest of the 5'th act. It's gonna be another long and fun day of getting the pieces together.

The work we are doing now, is for sure the fun part of making a show. This is where everyone and everything comes together and becomes a real play.

Are you on a winter brake right now?

Day 71 Rehersals at KG

As some of you might have picked up on, I'm currently working on a project at KG. I'm doing the choreography for the play "Erasmus Montanus". I've been working mostly with the dancers so far, but as we're stepping into the last halv of the process I'll be more involved with the actors and the setting as a whole. I'm teaching choreography at least two times a week, in addition to my regular classes. It's great fun, and I can't wait to see it being put together with all the music and dance numbers in it!

Soon off to work in the office, teach my 4 classes, do choreography and finally have a meeting about "The Wall". Long day in other words.

Day 70 such awesome project coming up!!!!!

On monday I got one of the coolest phone calls I've had in a while. And a question to participate in a production so huge that it might be the greatest I'll ever get to do. I feel so lucky, so blessed and so thankful! I will be a part of picking out and teaching a bit of choreography and a song to some kids that will be on stage at Telenor arena with "The Wall"concert in April. I'm so stoked!

Today I've been to ballett, and to Pia my physical therapist. She is saying 6 weeks now for me to get strong enough to lift my leg like I want it. I've gotten pretty flexible, but still need some strenght to get there. I'm going to step it up a little since I'm almost at the end of my challenge. I'll work on spesific lift exersises every day for the next few weeks to see how my body responds to that.

Now I need to finish the dance for my classes tonight, and make some stuff for tomorrow. Later!

where to begin...

Things are moving so quickely now, that I haven't even had a chance to update my blog for a few days. I have set the date for the audition for my dance company that I'm starting up in january. So far several fantastic dancers have been interested, and I'm getting interest from some of the pros that I was hoping would join.

Starting the prosess I realized a lot of deadlines for aplications on funding were to today, so I've been working all week on getting everything ready to send it.

I made a picture dvd with photos of recent projects to send along with the aplications and cv's.
Here it is:

Now my head is spinning out of controll cuz I'm so overworked. I have to have a coffee-break.

See ya!

inspired

I got the final "yes" I needed from my boss today to put into motion the idea that's been in my head for some time. I'm starting a dance company with base at Hauketo! The idea is that it will be a mix of profesionals and amateaurs who make this work together in an interesting mix. We're starting up after christmas so I've aldready set the audition date. Now I need to work on getting sponsors, funding, jobs, events and other stuff together.....guess I've got my work cut out for me.

gotta go...work

morning after dark

waynes coffee
I finally got to have a morning meeting with Ragnhild yday. We've planned on it for a few weeks but life's been busy lately. Now since I really cant go to class anyway we sat down at st.hans haugen/bislet at a sidewalk cafe'. Ragnhild is one of my favourite people to work with. We make a pretty good team i guess. We're gonna do some more projects together, but it's still a bit of a secret so I'm not gonna lay it all out quite yet. But I gave her some food for thought on an idea I've had, so now I just wait and see what will come of it. Now it's off to the office to set up the scedule for this weekends compagny training
