Ballett

After some consideration I decided to go to the earliest class today. It's ballett at 9. I'm having my coffe right now, and need to leave in about 5 min. I'm picking up the kids before teaching at five, and I need to go over some stuff and change some music. The plan is to go home and work after ballett....unless I get sucked into Siv's class that is :P

Have a good one <3

No name...

So I had a great start off today. Class was amazing,  Siv is amazing! We did a choreography that seemed vaguely familiar, though I couldn't really remember it. Song called "No name" and we tried to dance the feeling of being anonymous in a wonderful way...with all the freedom it gives....and the loneliness it will bring on the other end of the scale.

After class I went around with a bunch of flyers. (Adds for the studio) And 3 schools took flyers to give to everyone in their school! Awesome!

And 3 people have called to sign up their kids today. Seems like the classes are filling up....

Now it's music-mixing and choreographing on the agenda.....later <3

off to morning class

Can I call it morning class when it's at 10.10?

Yday was semester-start and I taught 5 classes back to back. The studio has been renovated this summer and is looking fab. (Yes I will put pictures up soon...promise)

At my new Funk class I had 10 new kidz and it was superfun, I still need more 3-4 graders though and 7'th pluss....so if you know anyone please send them to me!

More about the studio later.

What I was gonna say is that Siv Gaustad is teaching at proda (proffesional dance training in oslo) this week. So that's what's up with the early class. http://www.sivgaustadscheckedbaggage.com/

vampires and dead guys

vampire guides
Last night Maria and I went to the cemetary "vår frelsers gravlund" where all the famous norwegians are burried, to see the theatre play "when the dead awakens". The scene was set around the center of the park, and around 50 people showed up to take the tour.

 "When We Dead Awaken?
Two black angels and a ghost guide lead the audience through a theatrical performance that takes place at Vår frelsers gravlund. After nightfall…

With Æreslunden memorial cemetery as a backdrop to the performance, we are drawn into an exciting, eerie universe where the unexpected can happen. Several of our national heroes gradually come to life in front of our very eyes and the performance will deal with the type of relationship that the respective national ghost heroes have with Henrik Ibsen himself. In addition, the performance topicalises the relationship between life and art, the choices we have or don’t have in life, what causes us to make particular choices, and the consequences of the choices we make." (http://www.nationaltheatret.no/N%C3%A5r+vi+d%C3%B8de+v%C3%A5kner%3F.b7C_wBLOX5.ips)

In addition to great theatrical preformances by the actors and some effectful use of candellight and flashlights the two demons preformed a well choreographed piece.

If you missed out, you still have one chance to go and see it on Oslo kulturnatt September 24'th.

Marie Skeie art

Since I'm on the topic of home making I had to share this. It took about two years of living in this house before we put up anything on the walls. The reason being that we both feel like it's so difficult to find nice art, that we both like, and that fits in with our home and style. What we have up is just cheap reproductions and not even real art.

I really hope we can save up money some day to buy a real pice that we love! And I know exactly what I want to get:
by Marie Skeie

When I saw this I totally fell in love! It's got everything I want in a painting. The artist is someone I used to know way back in the day, and I just recently looked her up on the net.

Check out more of Marie Skeie's art at: http://www.marieskeie.no/

Now I want to know what's hanging on your walls, and who is your favourite painter?

keep making the excuse that I'm not particulary interessted in interior design and house-decorating. The reality is that I try to push it out of my head out of lack of time, energy and priority in this particulary area. There is a fantastic interior blogg that you must check out if you are secretly (or not so secretly) interessted. http://jordbarpiken.blogspot.com/ An incredibly cute blogg and very inspiring photos. I always feel a little bad when I visit cuz I wish I could make my home look as nice. Due to recent inspiration and one visit to Ikea, I did a little work on S's room. I though it turned out quite nice.

The dresser and "puff" used to be E's grandparens and painted green. I did some work on it 5-6 yrs ago.

The little suitcase was a gift from Inger Lise

heaven on earth.....

I thoguht the weather made a really awesome scenery the other day. We were boating with E's dad. It was a beautiful day, partially cloudy. It's so much more beautiful that way. It inspired me so I thought it may inspire you also....

Seriously...has anyone gone to see this?
It's a theatre play at "vår frelsers gravlund" (a cemetary) playing after dark.

I'd be very interessted in going, so let me know!

long time no see

I guess I've been too inspired lately to write. First of all I took a 2 week trip to the city of my dreams NY! I got to take some amazing dance classes at Steps on broadway. ( http://www.stepsnyc.com/ )  Went to the Met three times, and saw The Lion King! It felt like every day was so packed with inspiration that I was about to burst. I couldn't get enough.....

72nd

My dream right now is to take a trip next summer and bring the Man and the Kidz with me. Hopefully we can stay at least 4-6 weeks.

I also got to go to Ct Cyprien in France for a one week dance camp. Several co workers from Vinderen dansestudio came along with about 20 kids. One of my favourite dance teachers Angelo Monacco gave amazing classes and great coreography throughout the week.

from class

Now it's time to pick up the slack and start working! Next week is start up of all the classes at vinderen and hauketo, and there's lots and lots of prepearing to get done.

Got a new job...running the dance compagny at vinderen! Lovin it!

Be back soon...prooomise <3
